FROM OAKHURST (via Fresno
- Highway 41 - the preferred southern California route):
6.8 miles from Highway 49 - via Usona Road (approximately 15 minutes).
BE AWARE...due to the torrential downpours in early 2017, the roadbed along this route is hazardous. We do not advise using this route and instead advise using the route via Hirsch Road noted above. To do this from Oakhurst, continue on HWY 49 to Hirsch Road, where you will turn left (approximately 25 mintues from Oakhurst).
At the first stop light as you enter Oakhurst,
turn left and take Highway 49 North to Usona Road (approximately 20 minutes).
at Usona Road off of Highway 49 - across from Tip Top Road.
the end of Usona Road which ends with the continuation of Indian Peak Road
(approximately 5.5 miles). You will encounter many curves and about
a mile of dirt road within this stretch of road.
straight on Indian Peak Road for approximately 0.8 miles.
point the road becomes dirt - continue approximately 0.5 miles to Indian
Peak Ranch - 3276 Indian Peak Road.
on the left, sharp turn - our paved driveway is approximately 1/2 mile long to
the top of the mountain.
**Word of Advice: DO NOT take Indian Peak Road off of HWY 49 to get to the ranch. Due to the torrential downpours in early 2017, the bridge along this route was washed out and there is no through access.
ask that you respect the privacy of our guests. Advanced reservations or advanced notice is required in order to visit the ranch.
DO NOT use a GPS device to get to the ranch or you will likely find yourself lost. DO NOT use a GPS device when returning from Yosemite. GPS devices are unreliable in rural areas. Many roads are unmarked as road signs are often removed. If you find yourself lost, DO NOT knock on someone's door to ask for directions - the local ranchers do not take kindly to having their privacy invaded. You have been warned :-)
